Your words may not be perfect, calculated, planned;
Your demeanor may seem blunt, unpolished, even bland;
Your exterior may seem average, not standing out;
Your actions may seem awkward, causing others doubt.
But words, demeanor, actions, unrehearsed are real,
And so speak clearly, and profoundly make me feel,
Unintimidated, relaxed, and receptive,
Knowing your intention is not to be deceptive.

Finesse is overrated, smooth has hidden churns,
Cool is not so cool and hot causes burns.
What I like best is the fact you are you,
And if others can't appreciate what is truly true,
Then it is their loss, but my richly gain,
I'll gladly pass on fancy and go for just the plain.
For in the final tally, real is the best,
This makes you a star, outshining all the rest.

I need not you to practice the perfect way to smile,
Nor are your mistakes to be focused on for trial.
I do not even care what hair is on your head,
Some or none will not bring me any ounce of dread.
I just need from you to show me what is in your heart,
For this is all that matters, from your most important part.

Poet note: I'm not one who likes pick up lines, smooth talkers, or those who come across as trying to impress me
with their "polished" charm. A man who has no compassion and is full of himself, will score a minus 10 with me. I'm
more inclined to look beyond the exterior, because the "real" person is on the "inside" not the "outside". ♥
