Instead of trying to place all the latest featured on one page, which would be too cluttered looking, each feature will now have its own page. Currently there is an index placed on each feature page, to list all of the featured of that genre, but when this becomes a bit much for the page or before, it will then be moved to its own index page. -
Each feature page will showcase the latest feature and when it is replaced with a newer one, it will then be added to the index of that genre of featuring. -
Each featured artist, crafter, photographer, poet, writer, and website will have their own "feature page", which will be referred to as that genre's "featured page url". The featured page urls will be to give a more in depth view into, for example, the artist, the featured artwork, and additional information the artist would like added, which may be acquainted with as a profile. This may include: additional links to more of that artist's work, a few more examples of their art, and perhaps, how the artist may be contacted. Also, information about them as an artist, like their experience as one example, would be nice to give the viewers a closer look at the artist and always in a light the artist is comfortable with in regards to them or their work. If any of the links included in this profile however, lead to ANY questionable material for young viewers, I would like to be made aware of, so parents and guardians can be made privy to in advance by my placing of a notice as to such. -
Please also read the guidelines for featuring on the main page: Special Features. These may be updated at any time at my discretion without any notification to anyone. There likely will be, because as this new venture gets underway, more aspects that will need addressing as they present themselves and therefore, amendments shall be made accordingly. Please also make note of the slightly modified policy in regards to the featuring of websites. -
I added a new category for those that are into making crafts: Crafters. So as it stands at present, there are five genre categories. Besides Crafters, there are also: Artists, Photographers, Poets, and Writers, plus Websites. Suggestions for more artistic genres to be included under Special Features are certainly welcome. - I am working on some ideas for awards for each genre category. Contemplating going with designing an emblem type graphic, a ribbon, or a trophy, and I likely will incorporate my metallic effect as well. - Artsie has set up a page for the expressed purpose as a "guideline of questions" to help with setting up the "Featured Profile Urls" for each of the featured --> Feature Page (profile) Url Questions' Guideline. Any suggestions for additional and/or amending the questions' guidelines are very much welcomed.

From *Artsie_ladie*: - Hello everyone! - To my family and friends that are watching and reading, I want to explain about the set up here at the Google Sites, if I can, in a way to try to make it understandable, which isn't all that easy at this point for me. - There is much to learn on how to do this and that. I find the navigation to the various places an administrator needs to access, quite confusing, but maybe this is because I'm simply not acquainted well enough with the system yet. I find myself basically going around in circles to find the necessary pages I'm in search of. It would be great if all the necessary links were available on each page, either set or via a drop down box. - The site is set up so that an entire site (within the site) has one type of setting for edibility and by whom. In other words, the individual pages can't be set for different editing capabilities. A user can set up their own site within the site, however. If I were to make a suggestion about the Google Sites, I would suggest that individual pages as opposed to or as well as "sites" can each have their own individual setting for edibility. This way the users of a site can work both together and separately, if they so wish. The same holds true for outside viewing purposes. I also think that individual pages should have settings for view-ability, as I do think so for edibility. - The choices for invites are only collaborators or viewers at the moment and I have yet to see what's exactly available for the "viewer users". Also, it is not clear to me at this time, about what the users can do as far as inviting to their sites within the site. - I would like to see either a guestbook and/or comments' section to be made available for all viewers as the blogs are set up. With the blogs all the comments can be allowed or not and screened by the owner to accept or reject, which I feel is a good method. I can be contacted at: Artsie_ladie, of course, but I think many would find it much simpler to leave a comment as opposed to emailing. Currently, only those that are users of the site can comment. -
If this sounds confusing, then I've made my point, because it is and this is why I have yet to invite family and friends. Rest assured, I'm trying to learn everything so I can start inviting soon! - Hope all have a blessed and happy day! God Bless! *HUGS* - Yours truly, -
